The Salt Lake Tribune -- An undocumented immigrant who allegedly shot and killed his boss over a pay dispute is scheduled for trial

The Salt Lake Tribune -- For the Record
Undocumented worker's murder trial is Aug. 27
An undocumented immigrant who allegedly shot and killed his boss over a pay dispute is scheduled for trial Aug. 27 in Provo's 4th District Court. Jesus Hernandez, 32, is charged with first-degree felony murder for the Jan. 9 slaying of 38-year-old masonry company owner Joseph Crummy. Hernandez complained to the state Labor Commission that Crummy owed him more than $1,300 in back pay. Moments before he was killed, Crummy argued with Hernandez at a Lehi subdivision over whether Hernandez was being paid by the hour or the job, according to testimony at a June preliminary hearing.
