A federal immigration worker pleaded guilty Tuesday in Dallas to possessing and distributing child pornography, some of which was found on his work computer.

Jeffery Wade Miller, 33, of Joshua was charged with one count of distribution of child pornography and three counts of possession of child pornography in interstate commerce.

According to court documents, Mr. Miller was a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services employee when authorities discovered his pornography collection last fall. Federal agents reported finding his member profile for an e-mail account, which contained a picture of a nude girl.

A spokeswoman for the agency, part of what was formerly known as the Immigration and Naturalization Service, could not provide details of Mr. Miller's employment, including whether he is still employed.

Court documents indicate that after learning more about Mr. Miller through undercover chats and subscriber information, federal agents obtained a search warrant and found more than 150 images of child pornography on his computer, in an Internet account and on floppy disks in his car.

Mr. Miller's sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 24. He faces a statutory maximum sentence of up to 60 years in federal prison and as much as a $1 million fine.
